Palliative Care
Palliative care offers relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. It helps you maintain the best quality of life possible by understanding and honoring your medical and emotional needs.
Palliative care does not signal you are giving up hope for recovery. Support can begin at any stage of an illness, with patients moving in and out of care as needed.

Lori is the executive director for our New Jersey programs. She graduated nursing school in 1995. After spending more than 12 years in Trauma ICU, she felt it was time to make a career change to hospice. Lori has been with Compassus for more than eight years. Her integrity as a clinician aligns with the Compassus vision to provide end-of-life care with compassion, integrity and excellence.

Elise Lawrence started her healthcare career at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital 30 years ago in the Admissions & Registration department, later moving into Marketing as a Physician Liaison. For the past 9 years she has worked as a hospice care consultant, providing education to patients, families and the community on end of life care.

Social Worker
Michelle has worked in the hospice field for more than nine years. This is her second career. She received a scholarship to the School of Visual Arts and was a successful graphic designer for many years.
While volunteering with an elderly home-bound woman from her church, Michelle began to see other possibilities for her future. She has a Master of Social Work degree from the Hunter College School of Social Work, and was the caregiver services coordinator for the Community Agency for Senior Citizens prior to moving into hospice.
She is a champion of the Compassus Inspiring Life Program, which uses donations to fund special events or items to improve the quality of life for patients and families. With the assistance of our dedicated team, she has hosted family reunions, hired musicians, created gift baskets and even painted ceiling tiles for bed-bound patients. Michelle received the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Social Worker of the Year Award in 2014.
Erin Bonomo, RN CHPN

On-Call Registered Nurse
Erin Bonomo RN CHPN has been a hospice nurse for more than six years. After graduating Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing as Class Valedictorian in 2009, she chose the field of hospice after caring for the geriatric population in a sub-acute nursing facility. Her position affords her opportunity to care for patients after business hours and on weekends, ensuring that an RN is available 24/7. Erin has been a Certified Hospice and Palliative RN for the past two years and is dedicated to providing outstanding care to her patients and their families. “If you love what you do, you never will never have to work a day in your life” Erin was named On-Call Nurse of the Year 2015 by the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

Rebekah Adamczyk

Dr. Adamczyk is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Internship at Union Hospital being honored as “Intern of the Year.” Dr. Adamczyk then went on to complete her residency at Newark Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, NJ. She is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Adamczyk has been practicing since 2008, her primary office is in Oakhurst, NJ. She has affiliations with Jersey Shore Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center and HealthSouth Rehab Hospital of Tinton Falls. Her primary interests include Geriatrics along with Palliative Care/ Hospice Medicine and end-of-life issues. She has been serving as Associate Medical Director for Compassus since October of 2015
