Inpatient Hospice Care in Marshfield 

The House of the Dove by Compassus hospice care team provides compassionate, individualized end-of-life services for patients and their loved ones when a life-limiting illness is no longer manageable at home. Located in Marshfield, Wisconsin, House of the Dove by Compassus has 12 spacious private suites. Each fully furnished suite includes a private, accessible bathroom, microwave and refrigerator, space for guests to sleep, a television and more. The private patio and large windows provide views of the lovely gardens and landscaping.  

 Why Compassus? 

Our inpatient rooms offer a tranquil environment where patients and families receive comfort and emotional and spiritual support. Care is provided by doctors, nurses, social workers and chaplains with specialized training in end-of-life care. The unit is open to visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

What is General Inpatient (GIP) hospice care?  

General inpatient hospice care provides round-the-clock treatment for complex symptoms that cannot be managed at home. Our team arranges for safe transportation and intensive care to stabilize patients while fully supporting families and loved ones.  

A stay in our inpatient unit is generally short-term, with most people wishing to return to the comfort of home.  For patients who may be too unstable to return home, our inpatient room can be a place of safety and solace for families during the final stage of life.

What is Respite Care? 

We know home care can sometimes be difficult. Respite care provides a temporary stay at House of the Dove by Compassus so that family caregivers can receive much needed rest and perhaps some time away. Our goal is to enable patients to return to the comfort and independence of home hospice care.
