Patricia Christy BSN RN CHPCA is executive director for our Eastern Iowa program overseeing operations in 28 counties in Eastern Iowa. Patricia is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Nursing where she earned her BSN in 1989. Previously she received her Diploma in Nursing through the Akron General Medical Center School of Nursing in 1974. Patricia has been an active leader in hospice, home care, oncology and holistic nursing for over 42 years. She is one of the Great Iowa Nurses from its inaugural year in 2005 and has current and past certifications in Oncology Nursing, Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing both clinically as well as administratively, Holistic Nursing, and Integrative Therapies including Aromatherapy and Reiki. Patricia is married and has 6 children, 10 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Her personal passions (other than family) include gardening, herbalism and social justice.
Director of Clinical Services
Erika Bloomhuff is director of clinical services at Compassus – Davenport. She is dedicated to serving her community and passionate about providing care, support and education to those in need. In this role, Erika oversees the interdisciplinary team of health care providers, including nurses, hospice aides, chaplains and social workers, to ensure patients receive the highest quality care. She develops care plans to meet the individual needs of patients and to provide them and their families with the comfort and support needed to have a meaningful end-of-life experience.
Erika received her nursing and master’s degrees from St. Ambrose University. She began her career in emergency medicine and transitioned to long-term care, assuming roles including regional nurse, director of nursing, licensed nursing home administrator and regional nurse.
Managing Clinical Director
Mashell Belzer is the director of clinical services for Iowa. A graduate of Southeastern Community College, Mashell has focused the majority of her nursing career on long-term care and has extensive experience leading successful teams. In her role, Mashell strives to ensure patients receive the care they deserve to preserve quality of life in their end-of-life journey.
Tiffany's clinical hospice experience makes her uniquely qualified to coordinate care that ensures the best quality of life for patients and their families. She is a Washington native who began her career as a photographer in the obstetric units at local hospitals. She later pursued a nursing degree at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar. She returned to Washington after graduation to raise her three children. She joined Compassus in April 2017.

Dr. Sayed Shah serves as medical director for the Compassus program serving Davenport and the surrounding areas. He earned his Bachelor of Medical Sciences from Dow Medical College in 1998 after completing his undergraduate studies at D. J. Sindh Government Science College in Karachi, Pakistan. In 2001 he relocated to Chicago where he completed his residency in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital.
Prior to his role with Compassus, Dr. Shah worked as a hospitalist for Community Health Care and opened his own functional medicine practice, the Mandala Integrative Center. He is also medical director of Premier Estates of Muscatine, a nursing home in Muscatine, Iowa. He is board certified in internal medicine and is currently working to earn his fellowship in functional medicine from the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine.
