Compassus appoints three new health care veterans to roles within corporate office

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Compassus, a nationwide network of community-based hospice, palliative and home health programs, today announced the addition of three new colleagues to its corporate office in Brentwood, Tennessee, including: Brian Blackburn as vice president of technology; Jesse Verni as vice president of financial planning and analysis; and Tom Frundle as service desk manager.

Blackburn has more than 15 years of infrastructure management and implementation experience in the health care industry. Previously, Blackburn held various leadership positions in IT infrastructure management and implementation at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). He is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. In his role with Compassus, Blackburn will lead companywide initiatives to standardize, deploy and manage technology that supports the company’s mission.

Verni brings nearly 20 years of experience in financial management and operational leadership to Compassus. Most recently, Verni served as vice president of finance for Change Healthcare, where he oversaw key business initiatives including the integration of four multi-million-dollar acquisitions. As vice president of financial planning and analysis, Verni will lead the finance team in the development of budgets, forecasts and financial analytics to enable insights and predicatability in financial and operational management.

Frundle began his 20-year health care career as a paramedic and registered nurse. For the past six years he has worked in product management positions for clinical applications. Frundle has authored several articles about nursing and has served as an instructor and lecturer for courses related to emergency services and RN certification. In 2002, he was selected as a volunteer flight paramedic for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. As service desk manager, Frundle will oversee front line support to Associates related to technology issues.

“The knowledge and expertise that these health care veterans bring to our organization is invaluable,” said Jim Deal, chief executive officer of Compassus. “We look forward to their added support as we advance our strategic direction and continue to grow into one of the leading providers of post-acute care.”
