Compassus – Colorado Springs Celebrates Military Caregiver Month

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – There are 5.5 million caregivers providing assistance to veterans and active military in the United States. The Compassus program serving Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas is proud to observe Military Caregiver Month throughout May by honoring the contributions, support and sacrifices made by military caregivers.

Military caregivers commit themselves to supporting our veterans and servicemembers, helping to coordinate medical care, administer medications and provide supportive environments. These spouses, mothers, fathers and other loved ones put their lives indefinitely on hold to care for veterans and servicemembers, wherever they may call home.

“Being a caregiver is no easy task and military caregivers have the incredibly important job of caring for some of our nation’s heroes,” said Lin Howland, executive director of Compassus – Colorado Springs. “We are proud to recognize their contributions and thankful for the critical role they play in helping military and veteran patients with serious illness.”

Compassus – Colorado Springs is proud to take part in Military Caregiver Month and present certificates to military caregivers in recognition for the irreplaceable service they provide.
