Fulfilling a Final Wish: Daniel’s Day at Lambeau Field

Fulfilling a Final Wish: Daniel’s Day at Lambeau Field

Daniel's Wish

For Daniel, a Compassus hospice patient in Neenah, WI, a lifelong dream was to attend one more Green Bay Packers football game with his brother. Thanks to the compassion and dedication of his hospice care team, that wish came true.

When Daniel shared his final wish, Hospice Care Consultant Luke Van Ess, Social Worker Trish Gregg and On-Call Nurse Heidi Tisdale immediately began working to make it happen. The team reached out across the community, posting online to find connections and secure donated tickets (generously donated by the friend of one of their staff members). Trish also worked closely with the DMV to arrange a special parking pass to ensure Daniel’s comfort and accessibility on game day.

When the team surprised Daniel with the news, his excitement was unmistakable. He and his brother were able to attend the game together, creating lasting memories and moments of joy in the midst of a difficult time.

“Daniel was so happy. It meant the world to him to share that experience with his brother,” Luke shared. “Seeing his smile that day reminded us why we do what we do.”

Through teamwork, creativity and compassion, the Compassus Neenah team turned one patient’s wish into a moment of connection and joy that will be remembered long after the final whistle.
