A Dream Trip to Graceland: Fulfilling Cynthia’s Wish

When Compassus hospice patient Cynthia “Aunt Cindy” Bricco of Monett, MO, was asked by her pastor what she’d still love to do, her answer came without hesitation: “Go to Graceland!”
A lifelong Elvis fan, Aunt Cindy had always dreamed of visiting the King’s home but had never had the chance. That simple conversation sparked a beautiful chain of compassion. Her social worker, Jenny, shared the wish with Julie, Aunt Cindy’s nurse, and soon plans were in motion.
Working together, the team helped coordinate travel details, hotel arrangements and a full tour of the legendary Graceland mansion. Through the Compassus Living Foundation, Aunt Cindy’s wish became reality.
Her family joined her for the trip, creating memories they’ll cherish forever. “Even though she might not remember because of her dementia and short-term memory, we all will,” her niece shared. “Seeing her so happy meant everything to us. We’re so grateful to the foundation for making my aunt’s wish come true.”
