One such testament to this unmatched commitment comes from the family of a patient cared for by Cindy Bowie, a hospice registered nurse case manager in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.
Cindy recently played a pivotal role in providing comfort, dignity and peace to a patient during her final days in hospice care. The patient’s grandson, Anthony Scarpone-Lambert, shared his heartfelt gratitude for Cindy’s unwavering support and exceptional care.
Throughout the patient’s hospice journey, Cindy was a source of comfort and reassurance for the family. Her meticulous attention to detail included reviewing medications, monitoring vitals, ensuring the patient was bathed and dressed and walking the family through the emotional challenges of the end-of-life experience. Her compassion and patience were evident in every action, leaving a lasting impact on those she served.
Anthony, himself a nurse, expressed deep admiration for Cindy’s dedication and professionalism. Her ability to provide comfort and dignity to his grandmother, whom he lovingly referred to as Nonna, was profound. Anthony emphasized the peace he felt knowing Cindy was part of his grandmother’s caregiving team during such a pivotal time.
Nonna passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and care. Anthony noted how meaningful it was for him to be able to contribute to his grandmother’s care alongside Compassus clinicians.
