Hospice patient celebrates 81st birthday in style
Margo Rychtik, a Compassus Wausau hospice patient, celebrated her 81st birthday in unforgettable fashion at Ho-Chunk Gaming Wittenberg. The event marked the fulfillment of her “one thing” wish: to spend a meaningful day with her daughter Sue, enjoy special moments and be treated like royalty.
The celebration was made possible through an extraordinary collaboration between Compassus and Ho-Chunk Gaming Wittenberg, creating a day filled with thoughtful touches and memorable experiences. Margo’s day began with a meal of her choice: classic burgers. She was greeted with an array of beautiful flowers, colorful balloons and thoughtful cards. The management team at the casino added a personal touch by gifting her a cozy Ho-Chunk Casino blanket and a foot massager, gestures that brought her both comfort and delight.
One of the most special moments of the day came when Margo enjoyed her first banana split in years, a treat that perfectly encapsulated the joy and sweetness of the occasion. The celebration continued as the casino staff gathered to sing “Happy Birthday,” creating a warm and joyous atmosphere. To top it all off, Margo, her daughter Sue and her grandson were given free play on the casino floor, rounding out the day with fun and excitement.
