BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Nashville Medical News has selected Corina Tracy, chief operating officer of Compassus, for its Class of 2017 Women to Watch, recognizing 10 of the top female healthcare leaders in Middle Tennessee.
“Corina is exceptional by any standard, but it is a particularly significant professional tribute to be paid to her here in Nashville, which is recognized as the nation’s healthcare industry capital,” said Compassus CEO Jim Deal.
The Nashville healthcare industry is home to more than 400 healthcare companies that represent diverse segments of the industry and contribute an overall economic benefit of $38.8 billion and more than 250,000 jobs to the local economy annually, according to the Nashville Health Care Council. Among these are 18 publicly traded healthcare company headquarters that generate approximately 500,000 jobs and $78 billion in annual revenue worldwide.
The women honored by the Nashville Medical News this year represent the collaborative effort required to deliver quality care in a highly complex, heavily regulated industry. In addition to making an impact on the healthcare community, the honorees serve on numerous industry boards and organizations and participate in mentorship programs to lead and influence the future of healthcare professionals.

Tracy joined Compassus, a nationwide network of community-based hospice, palliative and home health programs, in 2003 as director of clinical services. Within five years, she advanced to regional management with operational oversight of facilities spreading five states. In 2014, she relocated from Iowa to Nashville to join the company’s executive team and has since assumed responsibility for its more than 151 palliative care, hospice and home health locations in 32 states.
“Corina has dedicated herself to ensure individuals receive quality, person-centered care at the end of life, and this much-deserved honor pays tribute to her tremendous efforts over the past two decades,” said Jim Deal, CEO of Compassus. “She is not only an integral part of our company, but also the improvement of our healthcare system.
