Compassus to Host Open House at New Wilkes-Barre Location

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Compassus, a nationwide network of community-based hospice, palliative and home health care, is hosting an open house Jan. 23, 2020, to welcome the community to its new location in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Compassus – Wilkes-Barre, which serves patients and families in Luzerne, Lackawanna and Wayne counties, recently opened at 250 Pierce Street, Suite 217, in Kingston.

Compassus – Wilkes-Barre provides high-quality and compassionate hospice care to improve quality of life for patients facing a life-limiting illness and their families. The supportive care team, which consists of physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers, works together to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients, wherever they call home.

“Our new location in Wilkes-Barre will allow us to increase awareness of the benefits and access to the services available to those with serious and life-limiting illness,” said Lori Caffrey, executive director. “If you are interested in learning how hospice can help improve the quality of life for you or someone you love, please stop by the event to meet our staff and tour our office.”

The open house is free and open to the public. The Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce will perform a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
