PRINCETON, W.V. – The Compassus program serving Princeton and the surrounding areas was recently named a 2018 Hospice Honors recipient by HEALTHCAREfirst, a provider of home health and hospice software, billing and coding services, Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) surveys and advanced analytics.
Hospice Honors is an annual review program that recognizes hospice programs providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view by CAHPS survey performance.
“At Compassus, our mission centers on providing our patients and their families with the highest quality care possible,” said Stori Pugh, executive director for Compassus – Princeton. “We pride ourselves on delivering care that honors the individual goals and preferences of our patients while meeting their physical, spiritual and emotional needs and reduces the stress of caregivers. This recognition, based on feedback from family caregivers, is especially meaningful because it affirms we are living out our vision.”
Award recipients were judged on 24 quality indicator measures resulting from CAHPS Hospice surveys rating hospice care experiences during an evaluation period of October 2016 through September 2017. Performance scores were aggregated from all completed surveys and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a National Performance Score calculated from all partnering hospices contained in the HEALTHCAREfirst’s Hospice CAHPS database.
Compassus – Princeton scored above the HEALTHCAREfirst National Performance Score on at least 20 of the evaluated questions.
