Hospice of Lubbock Brings Community Together for 16th Annual “Giving Thanks Feast”

Each November, Covenant Health at Home with Compassus, Hospice of Lubbock, comes together to honor a longstanding tradition that reflects the heart of who we are: compassionate caregivers deeply connected to the communities we serve.

This year marked the 16th annual Giving Thanks Feast, held on November 11 in Lubbock, TX. Nearly 200 community partners from across 19 counties joined the celebration, which has been a cherished gathering since 1987. The event brought together collaboration, gratitude and joy—complete with a photo booth, Hospice of Lubbock trivia and live music performed by the team’s music therapist.

What makes this luncheon especially meaningful is the spirit of generosity behind it. Teammates at Hospice of Lubbock prepare the sides and desserts themselves, donating their time, kitchens and talents to make the feast possible. It’s a heartfelt example of how this team shows up to support partners, families and one another.

This year’s event was made possible through the dedication of many team members including Rose Chase, administrative assistant; Veronica Buescher, supervisor of community services; Cindy Land, area executive of clinical operations; hospice care coordinators Christi Snodgrass, Lesleigh Hollis, Michele Houston and Whitney Benson; April Cantu, clinical liaison; and John Castro, area market executive.

Thank you all for leading with heart, honoring long-standing traditions and strengthening community connections year-after-year. Your work reflects the very best of Compassus.
