Compassus Attends Healthy Community Summit 2025

In July, our Compassus hospice team from Macon, MO, proudly participated in the Healthy Community Summit 2025 held at the Walsworth Community Center in Marceline, MO. This marked our first time attending the event, and we were honored to be the only hospice provider present.
With a focus on children and families in the area, the event drew strong community participation. Over 400 people visited our table, where we offered a variety of kid-friendly activities including school supplies, coloring sheets, a temporary tattoo station and free hair trims—a huge hit with the attendees!
While the event was centered around children, it created valuable opportunities to engage with adult caregivers and healthcare professionals. We had meaningful conversations about end-of-life care, connected with families who had used our services, and received positive feedback about the compassionate care their loved ones received.
We also had the opportunity to network with other regional health organizations, including the Boone County Health Department, which expressed interest in learning more about the services we provide.
This event was a wonderful platform to demonstrate our commitment to the community and raise awareness about hospice care. We are excited about the connections made and look forward to participating in this annual event for years to come.
Special thanks to Volunteer Coordinator Jennifer Morris, whose dedication and effort were instrumental in organizing volunteers for this event.
