A young, terminally ill mother lost the ability to care for her daughter and sent her out-of-state to live with an Aunt. Alone to battle her disease, the separation devastated the young mother. But as paralyzing and painful as it was – it was also necessary. As her last days drew near, this brave mother requested to see her daughter one last time. There was no money between the two families to fly either party to meet the other. Hospice Angels was contacted and plans were immediately put into effect to fly the young mother’s sister and daughter to her bedside. Within weeks the young mother passed peacefully having been granted her one last wish. Her daughter and family carry the memory and peace in their hearts that only final togetherness can bring.
The mission of Hospice Angels Foundation is to “Honor Life and Offer Hope” to terminally ill individuals and their families. This includes basic needs to shelter individuals at the end-of-life, granting last wishes, and providing healthy bereavement support opportunities for children and families.
