Compassus – Willingboro Recognizes Local Chaplain During Pastoral Care Week

The Compassus program serving Willingboro and the surrounding areas recognizes Chaplain Barbara Bain during Pastoral Care Week, October 22-28, 2017, for providing the highest level of spiritual care and guidance for hospice patients and their families.

Bain has been serving the program since December 2009.

“We are proud to recognize Barbara’s selfless efforts to provide compassionate support and exceptional spiritual counseling to our patients and their families,” said Lori Thompson, executive director for Compassus – Willingboro. “Hospice chaplains offer spiritual support – directly or in collaboration with a patient’s or family’s own clergy or spiritual counselor – to provide a more meaningful end-of-life experience. Barbara’s empathetic and reassuring presence, exceptional ability to understand and comfort patients, and willingness to support colleagues makes her an integral part of our Compassus team.”

Regardless of spiritual, religious or cultural background, Pastoral Care Week celebrates those who provide spiritual support to those receiving hospice or palliative care wherever they call home and in many other settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities and nursing homes.

Compassus – Willingboro will recognize local pastoral care providers next week by presenting them with framed certificates of appreciation for their dedication to the patients and families they serve.
