Aracely Enriquez and Diana McGowan Receive National Recognition for Delivery of Superior Hospice and Home Health Care during National Nursing Assistants Week

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Compassus hospice and home health programs serving Albuquerque and the surrounding areas are proud to recognize Aracely Enriquez and Diana McGowan during National Nursing Assistants Week June 14-21. Enriquez, a hospice nursing assistant, and McGowan, a home health nursing assistant, are being recognized for their dedication to providing the highest level of quality care for patients and their families.

“We are proud to recognize Aracely for her tireless commitment to providing superior hospice care. Nursing assistants go beyond fulfilling patients’ medical needs – they truly dedicate their lives to caring for and supporting others,” said Elizabeth Ross, executive director for Compassus – Albuquerque’s hospice program. “Aracely lost her mom earlier this year, yet she remained strong and cared for our patients even while she was going through heartache in her own life. She routinely goes above and beyond to help her patients, families and fellow colleagues.”

“Diana is integral to the Compassus home health team,” said De Anna Tapia-King, interim executive director for Compassus – Albuquerque’s home health program. “Thanks to her selfless service, our program is able to support patients and families managing chronic or serious illness or injury with compassionate care at home.”

Nursing assistants provide as much as 90 percent of the direct long-term care delivered in the United States, interacting daily with an array of personalities, cultures, abilities and disabilities in nursing homes, home care, hospice, assisted living and other long-term care settings.

Compassus – Albuquerque will recognize other local nursing assistants during National Nursing Assistants Week by presenting them with framed certificates of appreciation for their dedication to the patients and families they serve.
