Elisse Price Receives Top Volunteer Recognition for Dedicated Service During National Volunteer Week
WALTHAM, Mass. – The Life Choice Hospice program serving Waltham and the surrounding areas is proud to recognize Elisse Price and all hospice volunteers during National Volunteer Week April 12-18 for providing companionship, support and dignity to hospice patients and their loved ones. Life Choice Hospice is part of the Hospice Compassus family.
“We are proud to recognize Elisse for her efforts to honor life and offer hope to individuals facing a life-limiting illness by supporting them with compassion, integrity and excellence,” said Celeste Lamoureux, Executive Director for Life Choice – Waltham. “Elisse’s positive attitude and contributions make her a dedicated member of our team, and we are fortunate to have her as a volunteer.”
“Volunteers help make our mission a reality here at Life Choice,” said Dr. Alan Glaser, Medical Director of Life Choice – Waltham. “This National Volunteer Week, we are pleased to honor Elisse for consistently providing hospice volunteer visits for the last several years. She brings her certified pet therapy dog McGiver with her to offer special companionship to those in hospice care and emulates the hospice spirit with her compassionate ways and consistent presence. I want to thank her and all of the volunteers on our team for their true dedication to our patients and families.”
According to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, there are an
estimated 400,000 trained hospice volunteers providing more than 19 million hours of
service to hospice programs each year. Hospice volunteers add to the care provided by physicians and other hospice staff by bringing companionship to people in the final months and weeks of life, providing respite to families and caregivers, and supporting the administrative responsibilities of hospice programs.
Life Choice – Waltham will recognize its volunteers this week with a volunteer appreciation dinner.
