New Location Expands Local Access to High-Quality Hospice Care and Services
SANTA FE, N.M. –Compassus has received approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for a new office location in Santa Fe. The expansion creates additional access to comprehensive and compassionate hospice care for the residents of Santa Fe and surrounding areas and promotes economic development in the community through the creation of jobs.
“Many communities across the U.S. are underserved when it comes to hospice care,” said Elizabeth Ross, R.N., executive director of the Compassus programs serving Albuquerque and Santa Fe. “We are committed to filling this void across the country and our new location will deliver the highest quality care and support services to our friends, families, and neighbors here in Santa Fe.”
The new office is now open at 130 Siringo Road, Suite 203, to serve patients in Santa Fe County and the surrounding area. It is staffed and supported by an interdisciplinary team of local physicians, nurses, certified nursing assistants, chaplains, bereavement coordinators, social workers, and community volunteers specializing in hospice and palliative care.
“The final stages of life can be difficult to navigate, both as a patient and as a family member, and our new location allows us to provide them with an added layer of support,” said Caroline Kingston, M.D., medical director at Compassus – Santa Fe.
