GADSDEN, Ala. – The Life Choice Hospice program serving Gadsden and the surrounding areas is currently seeking volunteers to provide comfort and support to patients and families in need of end-of-life care. Life Choice Hospice is part of the Compassus family.
“Every day, volunteers touch the lives of our patients and their families,” said Deanna Hall, Executive Director for Life Choice – Gadsden. “Whether reading to a patient, preparing a meal for a family or cleaning up around the house, each gesture – no matter how small – makes a meaningful impact on those we serve.”
The mission of Life Choice is to provide the highest quality and compassionate hospice care. By addressing the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs, Life Choice enhances the quality of life of patients and their families. An integral part of the care team, volunteers are relied on to provide support, companionship and dignity to members of the community facing serious and life-limiting illness.
Volunteers can give their talents and time in many ways. All participants receive specialty training on many aspects of hospice care, and can choose to dedicate as little as two hours a month to as much as six hours a week.
