LAFAYETTE, La. – The Compassus program serving Lafayette and the surrounding areas recognizes Brother Dave Rousse during National Pastoral Care Week, October 25-31, 2015, for providing the highest level of spiritual care and guidance for hospice patients and their families.
“We are proud to recognize the tireless efforts of Brother Dave to provide compassionate support and exceptional spiritual counseling to our patients and their families,” said Connie Boyd, executive director for Compassus – Lafayette. “Hospice chaplains offer spiritual support – directly or in collaboration with a patient’s or family’s own clergy or spiritual counselor – to provide a more meaningful end-of-life experience. Brother Dave’s positive and caring attitude, exceptional ability to understand and comfort patients, and willingness to support colleagues makes him an integral part of our Compassus team.”
Regardless of spiritual, religious or cultural background, National Pastoral Care Week celebrates those who provide spiritual support to others in specialized settings such as hospitals, long term care facilities, hospices, military settings, nursing homes, and many other settings throughout the world.
Compassus – Lafayette will recognize local pastoral care providers next week by presenting them with framed certificates of appreciation for their dedication to the patients and families they serve.
