Compassus Welcomes New Medical Director And Hospice Care Consultant

OSCEOLA, Mo. – Compassus, a nationwide network of community-based hospice programs and palliative care services, announced today the addition of Jacqueline Chung, M.D., as medical director and Allison Smith as hospice care consultant for the program serving Osceola and the surrounding communities.

In her role as medical director, Chung will be responsible for providing quality medical care to Compassus patients, working with their physicians to develop care plans that meet their specific needs. She will oversee the entire hospice care team, as well as the protocol for pain and symptom management.

Chung serves as the director of medicine for pulmonary services at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. She earned her degree in medicine from Saba University School of Medicine in Saba, Netherlands-Antilles. Chung completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

In the role of hospice care consultant, Smith will be responsible for educating health care providers and the general public about the hospice program. She will also work to build and manage sustainable relationships with referral sources such as physicians and case managers.

Prior to joining Compassus, Smith served in a sales role at C & C Group in Springfield, Missouri. She has more than 20 years of experience in the sales industry. Smith graduated from Longview Community College with a focus on business management and communications.
