SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Compassus, a nationwide network of community-based hospice programs and palliative care services, announced today the promotion of Amanda Kelley, R.N., to managing clinical director and the addition of Aimee Swisshelm as hospice care consultant for the program serving Springfield and the surrounding communities.
In her role as managing clinical director, Kelley will be responsible for managing the care team in meeting the needs of hospice patients and their families. She will oversee all patient care activities, including planning, staffing, monitoring and reporting.
Kelley previously served as the company’s regional clinical director. She earned a degree in nursing from Southwest Baptist College/St. Johns School of Nursing in Springfield, Missouri.
“I have been very fortunate to have worked with Compassus for more than twenty years,” said Kelley. “I am thrilled to start my new role, where I can continue to make a meaningful impact in our patients’ lives every day.”
In the role of hospice care consultant, Swisshelm will be responsible for educating health care providers and the general public about the hospice program. She will also work to build and manage sustainable relationships with referral sources such as physicians and case managers.
Prior to joining Compassus, Swisshelm served as the director of sponsor relations for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at CoxHealth where she was responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with donors and sponsors. She graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in communication management and business.
