Compassus – Jackson Recognizes Local Chaplain During Pastoral Care Week

The Compassus program serving Jackson and the surrounding areas recognizes Chaplain James Cresswell during Pastoral Care Week, October 22-28, 2017, for providing the highest level of spiritual care and guidance for hospice patients and their families. Cresswell has been working at Compassus since 2012.

“We are proud to recognize James’ tireless efforts to provide compassionate support and exceptional spiritual counseling to our patients and their families,” said Tammy Foster, executive director for Compassus – Jackson. “Hospice chaplains offer spiritual support – directly or in collaboration with a patient’s or family’s own clergy or spiritual counselor – to provide a more meaningful end-of-life experience. James is a shining example of compassionately caring for others. His positive attitude, exceptional ability to understand and comfort patients, and willingness to support colleagues makes him an integral part of our Compassus team.”

Regardless of spiritual, religious or cultural background, Pastoral Care Week celebrates those who provide spiritual support to those receiving hospice or palliative care wherever they call home and in many other settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities and nursing homes.

Compassus – Jackson will recognize local pastoral care providers next week by presenting them with framed certificates of appreciation for their dedication to the patients and families they serve.
