Growing up Maryann never had her own birthday cake. Coming from a large family, and having a sister whose birthday was only a couple days later, Maryann always shared a birthday cake with her sister. While visiting with her chaplain Maryann mentioned that she had always ‘just wanted her own birthday cake; a white cake with white frosting’. Shortly after that visit was Maryann’s birthday. Hospice Angels and the Compassus staff made that birthday extra special. Maryann got her white cake with white frosting, balloons, flowers, and a serenade of Happy Birthday. Maryann’s tears of joy said it all.
