Chief Information Officer Scott Blanchette leads Compassus’ technology strategy, analytics, and drives innovation to optimize systems to serve colleagues, patients and families most effectively.
Blanchette has extensive experience leading public and private equity-backed companies through intensive periods of transformation, which has been critical to the integration of Ascension at Home into the organization. Prior to joining Compassus in 2020, he was chief technology officer and chief product officer of MyNexus Inc. where he designed, built and launched the company’s home health utilization management platform. Before that, he held chief information officer roles at several publicly traded companies.
With a background as varied as his IT expertise is deep, Blanchette began his career in infantry, intelligence, and special operations roles, serving in both U.S. Army Special Forces and Navy SEAL units; spent seven years as an advisor to President George W. Bush on the National Infrastructure Advisory Council; and co-founded boutique venture capital and advisory firm Rear Echelon Capital LLC to support health care organizations with technology investments in consumer, digital health and analytics solutions.
Blanchette has been recognized for his leadership and innovation on numerous occasions. He was recipient of the MIT Sloan School of Business CIO of the Year Award, along with numerous inclusions on the CIO-100 and Information Week 500 lists. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in International Relations and National Security Studies at Harvard University. He holds an MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus, a master’s degree from the University of North Texas and bachelor’s degree James Madison University where he was a George C. Marshall Foundation Scholar.
